APSCo UK’s Representative Committee (RepComm) plays a crucial role in shaping the strategy and direction of our professional body.
Comprising elected members from amongst APSCo UK and AdvisorLink members, plus one representative from our Trusted Partner community, the RepComm is instrumental in decision-making and setting the course for the future of the recruitment profession.
What are the benefits of joining the RepComm?

Richard Harris, current RepComm member and Chief Legal Officer at the Robert Walters Group, describes being part of the RepComm as a great experience. He added:
"RepComm has people from different backgrounds, but we’re all drawn to it for the same reason, which is that we want to celebrate what the sector has done, because putting people into good jobs is an amazing thing, but also we want to make the industry better.
“It’s a representative committee for a reason. It’s not about the big companies and enterprises being dominant. It’s also not about a particular sector being dominant. It’s about everyone coming together in that broad framework”.
For those concerned about the time commitment, James Wakefield, the current Chair and CEO of RBW Consulting, assures it's a minimal time commitment and very rewarding experience:
“The RepComm represents the interests of all members and helps give the APSCo executive team a different perspective and a member’s perspective. It’s made up of people from across the recruitment landscape, different sizes of companies, different types of companies and people of different backgrounds as well, which I think is great.
“It’s a very relatively limited time commitment [but] it does give you the opportunity to be very much in the conversation about the things that are most affecting the recruitment market as a whole - and the quality of people in the group is great. You come away with something of value and you learn some things you weren’t expecting to learn”.
Stand for election to the Representative Committee
Every director of an APSCo UK member, Trusted Partner organisation or AdvisorLink member is eligible to stand for election. The nomination process is straightforward and members have until 15th February 2024 to submit their nominations.

“I put myself forward for the RepComm because I’m passionate about the recruitment sector. I’m making sure that people do it right and that quality is maintained. And this gives me an opportunity to have a voice and to be heard and to perhaps influence the direction of APSCo, which is great for its members”.
