APSCo responds to Keir Starmer’s speech

Responding to Keir Starmer’s speech in Manchester this morning, Ann Swain, chief executive officer of The Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) said:

“APSCo very much welcomes Keir Starmer’s ambitious plans for jobs and the economy, but we would like to see more detail.

“The UK is suffering both from a skills shortage and lack of growth. If Labour wins the next election, it must have a serious and sustainable plan to build a flexible workforce fit for the future.

“A comprehensive national strategy that addresses everything from apprenticeships to the regulatory environment would be a huge boon to the professional recruitment sector and help lay the foundations for Britain to become the highest-growth economy in the G7.”
