New Women in Leadership programme launched to support female recruitment leaders

The Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo) has launched a new Women in Leadership training programme, designed to address the challenges that are holding female leaders back in the sector.

Designed to empower and equip women with the tools, mindset and confidence to reach their full career potential, the training helps tackle self-doubt, imposter syndrome and other barriers that females in recruitment are facing in their professional lives.

The programme will leave delegates with an understanding of how they can best:

  • Understand the systemic and personal barriers to career advancement
  • Create a strategic vision for authentic leadership and promotion
  • Recognise the invisible habits that hold many women back and build new effective replacements
  • Deal with self-doubt and an imposter mindset effectively
  • Use practical tools and techniques to overcome barriers and plan for success
  • Manage stakeholders and build champions
  • Speak out with impact in meetings

The Women in Leadership programme combines one day of face-to-face training with three 90-minute mastermind sessions where delegates work together to examine the content, discuss the barriers and create a great support network to help them develop and achieve their full potential.

Moya Rylands, Commercial Director at APSCo comments:

“This is an incredibly exciting programme that has the potential to make a real difference in the recruitment landscape. To some degree we still underestimate the challenges facing women today, both from the wider environment we operate in and how individuals operate on a personal level. Quite often we simply don’t realise the barriers facing females in the sector and it’s only during the odd conversations with each other that we realise that actually, many are facing the same challenges.

“Women in Leadership has been designed to both inspire and support females in leadership positions to achieve their true potential. The concept came from conversations with, and direct requests from, our members. We piloted the training with 50 individuals last year which proved highly successful, with fantastic feedback. In fact, we’re putting our own women through the training at APSCo as well.

“We know that diverse organisations perform better, but women are largely under-represented at senior level within the professional recruitment sector. This programme will help address some of the barriers which have created this environment by equipping female leaders with tangible skills to be the best versions of themselves and truly excel in their career.”
