Brand reputation can be damaged or destroyed very quickly online by false or misleading comments. Defamation claims can be very high profile but, managed quickly and cost-effectively from the outset, can often be dealt with limited impact to the business. In this session, Peter will give us an overview of defamation claims in the context of reputation management, using a worked example, including:
- essential first steps as a claimant or defendant;
- how to deal with social media/review platforms; and
- an overview of related causes of action (privacy, breach of confidence, IP and also data protection)
