A message from Ann Swain, Global CEO of APSCo:

Despite many challenges, our members have excelled themselves and made it another very successful year for the professional recruitment sector. We shouldn't rest on our laurels though and that’s why we have even bigger plans for 2023. Everyone at APSCo looks forward to helping you achieve your goals next year and beyond.

In response to member demand, we developed our brand new Salary Survey. It provides a better understanding of the talent market within the professional recruitment sector and helps to benchmark your business to attract and retain the best people. Download the report here.

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT

The right training is a key factor in keeping your top talent. To support members in the development and retention of staff we’ve launched our Level 5 Advanced Leadership Programme, accredited by the Chartered Management Institute. It’s a must for middle and senior-level leaders.

LEGAL & COMPLIANCE

The introduction of APSCo’s Compliance+ accreditation aids our members in the Clinical and Healthcare sector. This recruitment standard was desperately needed to provide some consistency in the healthcare recruitment sector and is backed by all stakeholders in the supply chain.

APSCo’s legal helpdesk has continued to provide support on a range of employment and compliance issues. This year we’ve answered an astonishing 2,966 legal queries from members.

Queries are handled quickly and efficiently - members typically receive a call within 4 hours.

We’re delighted that our helpdesk has a member satisfaction “excellent” rating of 90%.

MEETINGS & EVENTS

Looking at our member events it’s been a packed 2022. Across the country, we held 106 events with over 2,000 attendees.

Expert guest speakers proved highly informative for members and APSCo events allow for unrivalled networking opportunities.

APSCo's charity ball was a sell-out and brought the professional recruitment sector together for a Venetian masquerade-themed evening.

We were thrilled that members raised nearly £50,000 for St Ann's Hospice - a wonderful charity that gives so much support to those with life-limiting illnesses.

AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE

Who can forget our fabulous Awards for Excellence - which every year celebrates the very best of the professional recruitment sector.

The quality of entries we received this year was exceptional. I believe that professionalism in recruitment is the norm, but excellence is optional! Congratulations to the winners and all those shortlisted.

TRADE DELEGATION

We didn’t just confine ourselves to the UK. APSCo’s trade delegation to Berlin and Zurich was incredibly successful.

Members benefited from plentiful business opportunities thanks to a full suite of seminars and meetings.

PUBLIC POLICY & MEDIA COVERAGE

We regularly engage with trade and national press to get our message out. We had over 600 media hits, in publications such as CityAM and The Telegraph, reaching millions of people in the process.

APSCo's media reach complements our very successful efforts to shape public policy. We facilitated meetings with MPs and government departments for members to engage on everything from regulation to work visas. APSCo has achieved major policy wins this year, from the reversal of the social care levy to the adoption of digital right-to-work checks and a reversal in attitude towards highly skilled immigration.

APSCo's plans for 2023

APSCo will continue to provide members with exceptional value and business-critical service. We want you to get even more out of your membership in 2023. Here’s a selection of our exciting plans for the year ahead.

In addition to more events, our AdvisorLink forums are set to be a big hit. You'll benefit from 1-to-1 sessions with our experienced recruitment advisors.

It’s a great way to better understand what a non-exec can do for your business.
