William Hobbs joined Barclays in October 2005, and is the Head of UK Multi-Asset Wealth Team for Barclays Private Bank & Wealth Management. William leads the team focussed on the core aspects of the Investment offering, setting the BUK Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA), Tactical Asset Allocation (TAA), Investment Philosophy and delivering Investment content. The CIO Team is the home of investment decisions which form and deliver our best thinking portfolios.
Prior to becoming The Head of UK Multi-Asset, William held the position of Chief Investment Officer for Barclays UK Wealth Management, a position he held from December 2018.
William is a fellow of the Securities Institute and has close to 20 years of experience in the financial sector. He has Masters degrees in International Business and Economic Development from Birkbeck, University of London and Economic History from LSE. He is also a Chartered Alternative Investments Analyst. William is a frequent contributor of economic and capital market’s insight to Bloomberg, CNBC and various other media outlets.
Tax Partner, Saffery
Mike is a tax partner with more than 20 years’ experience advising wealthy individuals, entrepreneurs and their businesses across a wide range of industry sectors, including professional partnerships, on tax planning and wider financial matters.
A good deal of Mike’s work focuses on corporate finance and transaction advisory work. Mike began his career and qualified with a ‘Big 4’ accountancy firm, and following this, was a tax partner and head of the North West tax practice for a top 10 firm. He joined Saffery in October 2013.
Mike is also a regular speaker at seminars and presentations for clients and contacts and is a frequent contributor to the firm's private wealth podcast channel.
